Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
1. Overview
Tech Aide ("Tech Aide," "the App," "we," "us," or "our") is a technical reference, educational, and workflow application designed for radiologic technologists, radiography students, educators, and imaging professionals.
This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use Tech Aide, how that information is used and stored, and the choices available to you.
2. Information You Provide
Tech Aide may allow you to create and store information through features including Favorites, custom Routines, Equipment Profiles, Waypoint credentials and continuing-education activities, Vault documents, notes, and other user-created records.
Some information is stored locally on your device. If you use an account and cloud synchronization, supported user-created information may also be stored remotely to provide synchronization, backup, and multi-device access.
You are responsible for the information you choose to enter or upload to Tech Aide.
3. Account Information and Authentication
Sign-in is optional for supported features. The current iOS app supports Sign in with Apple and email/password sign-in through Auth0. Google sign-in is not offered in the current iOS production app.
If you create or use a Tech Aide account, Auth0 processes information needed to authenticate you, such as an account identifier and email address. Sign in with Apple may provide an Apple private relay email address. Tech Aide does not receive your Apple Account password, and Tech Aide does not store your authentication password.
Account information is used to provide authentication, maintain your account, associate your stable Tech Aide identity, synchronize supported data, and provide account-related functionality.
4. Cloud-Synchronized Data
For signed-in users, supported information may be synchronized so that it can be backed up and accessed across supported devices. This may include:
- Favorites
- Custom Routines
- Equipment Profiles
- Waypoint credentials and continuing-education records
- Vault documents
- Other supported user-created records
Structured synchronized data, including supported Vault document content, may be stored in Tech Aide's cloud database. Tech Aide's public reference images and website assets are separate from user-created Vault content.
5. Protected Health Information
Tech Aide is not intended for the storage of patient records, patient-identifying information, or protected health information (PHI). Tech Aide is not represented as a HIPAA-compliant patient-record system.
Tech Aide does not intentionally collect patient-identifying information. Users must not enter, upload, or store patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, patient images containing identifying information, or other PHI in Tech Aide.
6. Usage, Technical Information, and Analytics
Limited technical or usage information may be processed as necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and improve Tech Aide and its supporting services. This may include request timestamps, device or browser information, Internet Protocol addresses, and diagnostic information generated when an error occurs.
Tech Aide supports optional Umami page-view analytics. Only where that analytics integration is configured, limited anonymized usage information may be collected to understand aggregate use and diagnose site or App issues. The analytics integration is omitted entirely where it is not configured. Tech Aide does not use user information for third-party behavioral advertising and does not sell personal information.
7. Subscriptions and Payments
Tech Aide offers optional Tech Aide Pro subscriptions through Apple's App Store and StoreKit. Apple processes payments. Tech Aide does not directly receive or store your full payment-card or banking information.
RevenueCat helps Tech Aide validate and manage subscription entitlements. Tech Aide and RevenueCat may process an app user identifier, subscription tier and product identifiers, entitlement status, expiration information, and transaction-related identifiers needed to recognize and restore purchases. Apple's and RevenueCat's handling of information is governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.
8. How Information Is Used
Information processed by Tech Aide may be used to:
- Provide and operate App features
- Authenticate users and maintain accounts
- Synchronize supported user-created information
- Provide backup and multi-device access
- Recognize subscription entitlements and restore eligible purchases
- Provide customer support
- Maintain security and reliability
- Diagnose technical problems
- Improve Tech Aide and its features
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
9. Service Providers
Tech Aide relies on service providers that process information only as needed to provide their services. Current providers include Auth0 for authentication, Railway for application hosting, Cloudflare for public asset delivery, Vercel for hosting the public Tech Aide website, RevenueCat for subscription-entitlement management, and Apple for Sign in with Apple and App Store payment processing.
Tech Aide's cloud-synchronized data, application-account information, and subscription-status records are stored in a Tech Aide-controlled MySQL-compatible database configured separately from the application hosting layer.
Service providers may independently process limited connection, security, and diagnostic information under their own terms and privacy policies.
10. Data Retention
Information stored locally remains on the user's device until it is removed through Tech Aide, removed through device or browser controls, or otherwise removed from the device.
Cloud-synchronized information may be retained while your Tech Aide account remains active or as needed to provide the applicable service. Information may also be retained when reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce applicable agreements.
11. Security, Account Deletion, and Data Deletion
Tech Aide and its service providers use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Clear Local Data removes applicable locally stored App data from that device. Clearing local data does not necessarily delete information associated with a Tech Aide account or information stored in the cloud.
Delete Account is available from the Account page when signed in and permanently deletes the Tech Aide account and associated cloud-synchronized data that Tech Aide is not legally required to retain. Deleting a Tech Aide account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription; subscriptions must be managed separately through Apple's subscription settings.
12. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on the features you use and applicable law, you may choose to:
- Use supported functionality without signing in
- Choose whether to create an account
- Manage locally stored information
- Delete supported user-created information
- Clear local App data
- Delete your Tech Aide account
- Manage or cancel an App Store subscription through Apple
- Ask questions about your personal information or applicable access, correction, or deletion rights
Privacy questions or requests may be directed to support@techaideapp.com.
13. Children's Privacy
Tech Aide is designed for radiologic technologists, radiography students, educators, and imaging professionals and is not directed toward young children.
Tech Aide does not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Tech Aide, its services, or applicable requirements change.
Material changes may be communicated through the App or other appropriate means. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy identifies the most recent revision.
